Where can I get a Concealed Handgun Permit?
Virginia Resident Concealed Handgun Permits are issued by the circuit court of the county or city in which the applicant resides. Please contact the applicable court for specific instruction on the application process. For more information view the

What do I need to do to apply for a Concealed Handgun Permit in Louisa?

What do I need to do to renew a Concealed Handgun Permit in Louisa?
Once approved by the court and processed by the clerk's office, your concealed handgun permit is valid for 5 years. You may renew your permit by completing the application as outlined for obtaining your Concealed Handgun permit however, you would indicate in the appropriate box that you are renewing your permit. In order to maintain your authorization, the application for renewal should be submitted to the clerk's office at least 90 days prior, but no more than 180 days prior to the expiration of your current permit. Within these guidelines the new permit mailed to the applicant becomes effective upon expiration of the existing permit.

What do I need to do to get a duplicate Concealed Handgun Permit?
If you lose or destroy your permit or wish to change your address, you must complete the Request for Duplicate Permit form and file it with the Louisa Circuit Court. Your original permit must have been issued by Louisa County Circuit Court. The form is signed under oath verifying that you are still eligible to carry a concealed handgun. You may complete the form in front of a Notary Public or with a deputy clerk at the Circuit Court during normal business hours. You will need valid photo identification and your filing fee ($5 for a duplicate or $10 for Address/Name Change) to complete the process. View and complete the

What do I need to do to submit a request for a duplicate permit?
Duplicate Permit requests may be submitted in person or by mail. Bring your notarized Request for Duplicate Permit and filing fee to the Clerk of the Circuit Court during normal business hours or send your completed Request for Duplicate Permit form and filing fee to:
