On August 8, 2023, the Louisa County Board of Supervisors recognized the Louisa County High School Girl's Varsity Softball Team for winning the Virginia High School League (VHSL) Class 4 State Championship. To win the state championship, the Lady Lions claimed the Jefferson District Championship as well as their first Region Championship in program history. The Lady Lions' impressive overall record of 24-1 is a result of their hard work and the dedication of the team
