Children’s Feeding Program in partnership with Louisa County Public Schools, and New Life Community Church, assists children who are at risk of hunger when schools are not in session. On weekends, over holidays, and during the summer, kid-friendly food packed in backpacks or boxes are distributed to children who, without them, would not get enough to eat.

Louisa CART (Community Animal Response Team) is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit organization that assists in the rescue, recovery, sheltering and daily care of animals during federal, state and local emergencies. LCART partners with other emergency responders when requested, and provides training / educational programs to assist the general public in preparing for animal-related emergencies and disaster preparation.

Grocery Assistance Program (GAP) is a monthly allotment of food to families who have incomes above federal poverty levels but who are struggling to afford enough healthy food. Independent of any government criteria, GAP serves a growing number of Louisa County residents trying to manage on fixed incomes while their housing, electricity, and medical expenses increase. GAP has no effect on clients currently receiving benefits through our other food assistance programs.
