Posted on February 13, 2020 at 1:32 PM by Walker Griffea

Louisa County Restaurant Week (LCRW) is going into its 4th year. Since its inception LCRW has highlighted local eateries that give Louisa County its flavor and flare. This year we are please to highlight not just the Louisa County staples but also a brand new restaurant eager to make its name. We were able to meet with a few restaurant owners and allow them to tell their stories. Enjoy!

We met with Angie Gerald, co-owner and chef at AnnieMac's Kitchen. This restaurant is new to the Town of Louisa so we had to meet with Angie to see what all the buzz is about.

How many years have you been in business?
"We are just opening up. We opened Friday, January 10th, 2020. Our opening hours are Thursday - Saturday from 12:00pm - 8:00pm"

What made you want to start your restaurant?
"It was just something my husband and I always wanted to do. Its something that was just inside me. I couldn't even tell you what made me want to pursue this but I'm here. My husband and I both love to cook and we cook all the food in the restaurant.

I also wanted to have a place where special needs people can come, work, and feel comfortable. My grandson is autistic. We do the autism awareness festival here in Louisa every year and we also helped to bring project life saver here to Louisa"

Why open your business in Louisa County? What makes Louisa County special?

"The jerk chicken, the steak & cheese, and the macaroni & cheese!"

What is your most popular dish?

"The jerk chicken, the steak & cheese, and the macaroni & cheese!"

If I were a visitor from out of town why should I come to your restaurant?

"The food is awesome! It's home cooked and our food is cooked with love. We are very particular about what we serve people. Its not like the franchises. Its a totally different atmosphere and totally different food."
