Community Animal Response Team
CART, the Louisa Community Animal Response Team is an all volunteer organization that performs animal emergency services by operating pet shelters, assisting law enforcement agencies with the dismantling of animal fighting rings, rescuing animals from animal hoarding situations and responding to disasters and emergencies that affect animals, locally, Statewide and Nationwide. Interagency Council, this group’s mission is to
identify ways to improve communications between
agencies and residents through churches and to
provide ways for churches to share information

Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline Council
All girls in K-12th grade can join the fun and register for Girl Scouting. Girl Scouts gives girls a supportive space to take chances, try new things, and learn to succeed through failure-improving all aspects of their lives. Earn badges, make crafts, go camping, sell cookies, plus a whole lot more. Participate in community service projects that help improve neighborhoods, schools and the planet; take part in outdoor activities such as kayaking, climbing and hiking; and partake in science fun like stargazing, CSI and vet science. once a week. The Good News Club offers real-life
solutions backed by the power of God’s word, which

The Jefferson Area Board for Aging (JABA) serves older adults, their families and caregivers as a provider of aging information, services and advocacy in central Virginia. They operate eleven vibrant Community Senior Centers and two Adult Care Centers, each with locations at the Betty J. Queen Intergenerational Center in Louisa. They are also a gateway to resources on in-home care, Medicare counseling, health services, home delivered meals. senior housing and an active volunteer program. Louisa County Resource Council provides life-sustaining assistance (primarily food) to citizens in our area. Begun in 1992, our agency has five separate programs in place to care for children, the elderly, and families who are at risk of hunger or health problems caused by their inability to get

SFES is a nonprofit equine rescue and certifi ed
sanctuary which provides rehabilitation and
training for unwanted horses, donkeys, and mules.
We are located at 2854 Byrd Mill Road and have
a variety (ages and breeds) of equine residents.
Opportunities to visit, groom, or simply love on
a horse, goat, or donkey are available to groups,
families, or individuals. SFES Volunteers assist with
farm chores, building projects, and helping equine
