Louisa County Sheriff's Office, Animal Control Officers (ACOs) are employed by the Sheriff's Office to enforce all state laws and county ordinances for the protection of domestic and agricultural animals.
Responsibilities
An ACO receives
training governed by the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer
Services (VDACS) and the State Veterinarian Office.
The
primary function of a Louisa County Sheriff's Office Animal Control
Officer is to help protect county residents and their pets, and doing
this while dealing with pets and animals as humanely as possible.
