If you want to pass on a piece of land to family members, you may not need to apply for a subdivision. There are still steps to follow to divide land properly, however. If you don't know for sure whether a family division is possible on your land, please complete "Request for Information or Division Review."
If you are ready to apply for a family division, follow the instructions for a Family Division of property or a Family Division By a Trust. Begin the process by submitting a sketch to the Community Development Department showing what you would like to do and who the lot is being deeded to (relationship). Leave your name and telephone number for someone to contact you about the division. Please allow a couple of days for a response.
