Prevention Services of Louisa County involves the collaboration and coordination of an inter-disciplinary team that includes, but not limited to: Region 10 Mental Health Services, Local school teams, Volunteers of Louisa County, The Inter-agency Council.

Helping our families before a crisis occurs helps them avert a sustained intervention.
Purpose
Preventative Services can be provided to your family when there is a potential harm or threat of harm that exist. Preventative services are an essential component of child safety and Human Services. The defined purpose includes preventing abuse or neglect and preserving the family life by enhancing parental capacity for adequate child care.
Obtaining Services
The family has the right to decline services or voluntarily agree to services. If you are interested in services, the local department will engage the family in a service planning process, including any needed community resources.
The process will emphasize family strengths, as well as its needs, and support the family’s efforts to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children. The identified services may be provided directly to the family by the local department or the services may be purchased for the family.
