Louisa County Rabies Clinic
Louisa County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with the Louisa County Animal Shelter, the Louisa Humane Society, Louisa Veterinary Service, and Louisa CART, every spring holds an annual Rabies Clinic to provide low-cost rabies vaccinations to the public (Not limited to Louisa County residents).
Rabies vaccinations are required by state codes and local ordinances to promote public safety and prevent the unnecessary spread of a deadly virus (Rabies). This disease when contracted by humans and animals is 100% fatal if left untreated, and when contracted must be treated within the first 72 hours. Even when diagnosed and treated, rabies can leave lingering effects.
Pre-registration is requested to assist in ordering the correct number of doses of vaccines.
Vaccines are $12.00 per animal. Please bring exact cash to the event. Credit Cards and Checks will not be accepted.
Pre-registration for this event ends on June 9th, 2023, but extra vaccines will be available during the event until they run out.
