Betty Queen Center Playground

Available for citizens of Louisa County is the Betty Queen Center playground area, which includes a large play structure with spiral slide, wave slide, and zip slide, a clover leaf climber, and a mega rock climber. There is also a sky runner, swings, and a whirlwind seat. Also included is a fun-semble musical station. This play area is for elementary school aged youth.

Betty Queen Center Pavilion

This pavilion located across from the Louisa Aquatic Facility at 530 Industrial Drive is available to rent for your birthday party or small event. Included are six picnic tables and two charcoal grills. The fee is $20 for a three hour rental reservation. Security deposit of $25 is required, but will be refunded providing area is left clean after use.

Bowlers Mill Lake

75 acre lake and boat ramp ramp located on Bowlers Mill Road off James Madison Highway south of Gordonsville. This lake area is open year round: from sunup to sundown. Gas powered motors are prohibited. Fishing by permit only which may be purchased at the Louisa Treasurer's Office 540-967-3435.

Buckner-Bumpass Park

Located at 70 Bumpass-Buckner Park off Bumpass Road, this 18 acre community park includes picnic shelter and tables, playground equipment, and walking trail. This park is operated by Louisa County Parks and Recreation. Pavilion reservations are available ($20 for a three hour rental reservation plus $25 security deposit which is refundable if area is left clean after use).

Fitness Trail & Workout Equipment

Wrapped around the playground area, Health Department, aquatic facility, and the back of the Betty Queen Center is a fitness trail available for all Louisa citizens. As part of the trail, there is fitness equipment (air walker, back stretch machine, chest press, rowing machine, sit up board, dip bar, and push up bar) which can be used to enhance workout. Grace Adams Davis Memorial Playground & Luck Field

Located at 76 Louisa Avenue in the town of Mineral. This playground was installed and is maintained by Parks and Recreation. Playground and ball field is managed by the Town of Mineral and is available to youth during daylight hours.

Holly Grove Ruritan Club Playground Area

Located at 3022 Crewsville Road, Bumpass, this playground area was installed and is maintained by Parks and Recreation. It is open to the public during daylight hours. Also included at this location are ball fields that must be reserved through the Holly Grove Ruritan Club.

Lake Anna State Park

Park, boat ramp, and picnic area open all year. Beach is open Memorial Day through Labor Day. Beach admission and parking fee are required and additional launching and trailer fees apply. Operated by Virginia State Parks, annual passes and lifetime passes are also available. Lake Anna State Park is located at 6800 Lawyers Road in Spotsylvania County. Louisa County Aquatics Facility 
A three pool outdoor complex open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Included is a Junior Olympic size competitive pool, an activity pool for games and exercise classes, and a toddler pool with a fountain sprinkler. Concession items are available to purchase. This facility is managed by Louisa County Parks, Recreation and Tourism and comments, and/or concerns should be directed to our office at 540-967-4420.



Louisa County Bark Park

This facility located at 1856 New Bridge Road, Mineral is free to the public to use during daylight hours when not being used for canine training by the Sheriff's Department or other Parks, Recreation and Tourism sponsored activities. All users must follow the posted park rules. There is no water at the Bark Park, so you will need to bring water with you for you and your dog. No aggressive dogs, and all dogs must be current in their vaccinations.

Louisa Disc Golf Course

The 9-hole disc golf course is completed and ready for use by the community during daylight hours. It is located at the Betty Queen Center site, behind the picnic pavilion, playground area, and Health Department, and is free to play. Players must bring their own discs (frisbees). The disc golf course will be closed from September 14th through November 13th for the Haunted Trails to take place at the site.

Louisa Town Park

This town park has playground equipment for elementary and preschool age children, picnic tables, walking trail, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and picnic shelter. This passive park is located at 108 Meadow Avenue in the town of Louisa and operated by Louisa County Parks and Recreation. Pavilion reservation fee is $20 for a three hour rental with a $25 security deposit which will be refunded providing the area is left clean after use.

Northeast Creek Reservoir

A Louisa County Water Authority water supply lake that was opened to fishing in 1987. This 187-acre reservoir had about 30 acres of standing trees left after construction, which now provides excellent cover for fish and fishing opportunities for anglers. The lake contains large mouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, crappie, chain pickerel, and channel catfish. Open year round: one-half hour prior to sunrise until one-half hour after sunset. Gas powered motors prohibited. Fishing by permit only which may be purchased at Louisa Water Authority 540-967-1122.

Rising Sun Community Park

Located at 7071 Fredericks Hall Road on the property of the Rising Sun Community Building, this park includes playground equipment and swings for neighborhood youth. There is a basketball court for teens and adults. Picnic tables are available for use. The park is maintained by Louisa County Parks and Recreation and available to the public each day until dark.

Town of Louisa Community Park

Built by the Town of Louisa and located at the Louisa Town Hall, 212 Fredericksburg Avenue, this park has playground equipment and a picnic pavilion. Questions should be directed to the Louisa Town Hall at 540-967-1400.
